Broiler exports record all-time highs in value, volume first 8 months

U.S. broiler exports for January through August this year set an all-time high in volume and value, according to new trade data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).
Broiler exports for the first eight months of this year were 2,501,985 metric tons, up 4.8 percent from the same period of last year, while export value reached $3.506 billion, up 20.2 percent (pictured).
Cumulative turkey exports for January through August this year were 127,397 metric tons, down 22.3 percent from the same period a year earlier, while export value reached $425.2 million, up 2.6 percent.
Total egg exports (table eggs plus egg products in shell egg equivalent) for the first eight months of this year decreased by 51.8 percent to 110.8 million dozen. The value of those exports dropped by 24.5 percent to $157.4 million.
