Chengdu event boosts recognition of U.S. chicken paws in SW China
April 12, 2021
Southwest China is an important market for the processing of imported chicken feet/paws and wingtips. Importers and processors, there are very price-sensitive and prefer medium-small size chicken feet/paws and large wingtips. Clients in the region have many years of experience using U.S. chicken paws which have a good reputation in the southwest China market. During the five-year suspension of U.S. poultry export to China, competition for imported poultry raw materials in this market intensified. Chicken feet/paws from Russia, Thailand, Brazil, and Argentina have taken the former U.S. poultry market share with low prices.
To promote the recognition of U.S. chicken paws among processors and conduct trade leads for those importers located in southwest China, USAPEEC China participated in the U.S.-China Agricultural Friends of Southwest China event held by ATO Beijing at the Hyatt Hotel in Chengdu. It was the first activity carried out by the U.S. Embassy in China after it took over the Chengdu consulate area. It attracted more than 50 U.S. agricultural product exhibitors and hundreds of visitors. The event was divided into a mini trade show and a Friendship program.
