August 14, 2023

Two years ago, USDA Agricultural Trade Offices (ATO) in China planned to carry out a series of Great American BBQ activities to promote U.S. agricultural products in the country’s major cities. However, due to the COVID pandemic, the plan was not implemented until this summer. This Great American BBQ event was hosted by ATO Shanghai on Aug. 2 at the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai.

Attendees took the opportunity to bid farewell to Erik Hansen, the director of ATO Shanghai and a good friend, who will be leaving the post for his next assignment in Tokyo, USAPEEC would like to thank him for his efforts and contributions in the development of agricultural trade between China and the U.S. over the past three years.

About 200 guests in Shanghai were invited to the event. USAPEEC participated with product sponsorship. U.S. chicken leg quarters were featured on the menu, and USAPEEC flyers were distributed. Importers in Shanghai also were invited to attend the event.Participation in this type of activity provides an opportunity to introduce more U.S. poultry products to the catering industry in first-tier cities in China.

Jina Gao from the Shanghai office represented USAPEEC.
