USAPEEC PR campaign seeks to boost U.S. poultry sales in Congo, Ghana

October 26, 2020

Eat more chicken! American chicken, that is. That’s the theme of a major new USAPEEC public relations and advertising campaign that just kicked off in two key African markets for U.S. poultry, the Republic of Congo and Ghana, and is intended to boost sales during the holiday season. The campaign, which focuses on the health and nutritional benefits of U.S. poultry products, targets consumers via radio, 20-second TV spots, and print messaging. Here, and on Page 2, are three examples of print advertisements and, on Page 2, the first media release, published in Ghana last week. The full version can be found at:

Exports to the Congo have grown by 13 percent in value and by 36 percent in volume compared to the same period in 2019, with exports from January to August reaching 41,321 metric tons. The increases came even while the country was on lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as consumers continued to look for affordable protein.
