June 15, 2020
The work done by the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) in eradicating virulent Newcastle disease (VND) in California was honored this week by USAPEEC at the annual meeting.
Dr. Adis Dijab, APHIS Veterinary Services field operations executive director, and Dr. Annette Jones, California state veterinarian, were recognized Thursday by Dr. John Clifford, USAPEEC veterinary trade policy advisor prior to his presentation.
Plaques commemorating the efforts of APHIS and CDFA will be presented at a later date in person, to Dijab by Clifford, and to Jones by Bill Mattos, president of the California Poultry Federation, as this year’s annual meeting was virtual.
