U.S. chicken export gains outpace rivals

The U.S. chicken industry led the world in increased exports for the first seven months of this year, topping all other countries.
Chicken exports from the U.S. grew by 77,218 metric tons for January through July of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. That is the third-highest year-over-year increase in tonnage for a January-July period since 2009.
That gain eclipsed year-over-year tonnage increases posted by Russia, which had the second-biggest growth among exporters at 69,126 metric tons, as well Turkey, Belarus, and Ukraine, which rounded out the top five.
