US Poultry & Egg Exports off to Good Start in 2020
March 16, 2020
The new year started with a bang for U.S. poultry and egg exports.
U.S. egg and broiler exports for January increased both in volume and value, while turkey exports were up in value, according to new trade data released by USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.
Broiler exports soared 20.2 percent in value due largely to higher export prices, which were up 15.4 percent per metric ton compared to January 2019.
Egg volume shipments jumped this January when compared to January 2019 when volume was low. Egg exports also were boosted by decreased export prices for both table eggs and egg products.
