China’s importance as an export market for the industry was clear yet again in August.
According to new trade data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, China once more topped all other markets in the value of U.S. broiler exports, the fifth month in a row that has been the case.
The value of broiler exports to China in August reached $64.9 million, or 22.4 percent of U.S. total broiler export value globally.
The figures for the first eight months of the year are similarly noteworthy. Cumulative broiler export sales to China for January through August totaled $417.6 million, or 17.9 percent of total U.S. broiler export value worldwide.
